Python isn’t gone from free Resolve. The console API stays. External scripting, Workflow Integrations and the UIManager move to Studio.

So learn the automation that lives outside the app
A transcript is a text file. An EDL is a text file. A rename runs on filenames, not on Resolve.
Take the one repetitive thing you do most
Ask where it would run if the app changed its mind. If the answer is nowhere, rebuild that one first.
