"In 2026, GenAI workflows have been used in roughly 300 of our titles, with the largest concentration of work in post-production." Netflix's own Q2 shareholder letter, July 16.
300 is real. 30% isn't Netflix's math
Outlets estimated that's close to a third of this year's slate. Real number, but that math is the media's, not something Netflix itself disclosed.
What it was actually used for
Enhancing crowds, historical battle sequences, worldbuilding establishing shots, named productions: Glory, Brasil 70: A Saga do Tri, The American Experiment.
Why this matters more than the number
Netflix framed it as higher quality output more quickly and at a lower cost. That's the actual signal for budget and scheduling decisions on any production, not just theirs.
