COMMISSARY

Pull up a chair. This is a working studio for content, products and teaching, aimed at creatives. It is run by someone who did the job before any of this existed.

Who runs the lot

Sean Dinwoodie is a producer and director with more than thirty years in film and television. One of his features opened in 457 theatres across North America and played hundreds more overseas.

He is lead director at a network television station and co-runs the production company Everlasting Entertainment. He has produced live events for Tony Robbins and Brendon Burchard, and he has covered the Olympics. He started on public access television in middle school, and in his own words he has done every job on a film set except hair and makeup.

Here is why that matters. He has been through a transition like this one before. When video moved to high definition, he learned the new equipment early and well enough to lead other people through it, rather than waiting to be told what the change meant. This is the same situation with a different technology, approached the same way. Learn it properly, use it on real work, and report back what happened.

Why it exists

Most of what gets said about AI and filmmaking comes from people who are not making films. The useful knowledge sits downstream of the work: which model breaks on which shot, where a pipeline wastes your time, and what a tool really costs once you use it at volume instead of in a demonstration.

That is what we publish. It is also why we build our own tools when the rented ones stop making sense.

What that means for the work

A model is an instrument. Someone still picks the idea, the frame, the cut and the moment to stop. That someone is the artist. Every piece that leaves this lot has a human hand on it and a name attached to it.

Where to go next

See what that looks like finished in the Prop House, or read how one of them was built on Soundstage 6. If you have something you want made, the Gate House is the window, and it reaches the director.

What the studio believes

Creating In AI™ is a working studio for content, products and education, aimed squarely at creatives. It builds its own tools when the ones on the shelf don’t fit. CutPilot™, our in-house editor, is one. It also runs AI Artists’ Media™, the representation arm for AI filmmakers.

Artist Made AI, Not AI Made Art™.

A model is an instrument. Someone chose the idea, the frame, the cut and the moment to stop, and that someone is the artist. Every piece of work that leaves this lot has a human hand on it, and a name attached to it.

We make AI Pie, Not AI Slop™.

Slop is what comes out when nobody decides anything: generated by the yard, unchosen, unfinished, poured out while it's still warm. Pie is made by hand, to a recipe someone had to learn, with the bad apples thrown out and the crust started over when it tears. Same oven, opposite results. The whole difference is the person doing it.

Or, as it goes on the end card: We make PI, Not Slop™. Pie or Pi, with the AI or without. AI Pi, Not AI Slop™, We make AI Pi, Not AI Slop™, We make Pie, Not Slop™. It is the same promise in every spelling, and we mean it in all of them.
